| Rockey's House on Canon Avenue
Sadly, buildings like these are not built anymore in our modern day! Last summer, a former Manitou Springs resident who now lives in Tennessee requested a photo of a building sometimes referred to as "Rockey's house." Mr. Rockey is a well-known local artist who has done countless oil paintings of Manitou Springs' neighborhoods and mountain landscapes. From what I've heard, he lives inside the building, situated on Canon Avenue across from the Town Clock. It's a great looking building alright, and it is architecture of this kind that sets Manitou Springs a cut above the generically designed, auto dependendent, aesthetically boring, suburban monoliths throughout much of our country. -Steve (June 1, 2006)
